Hi,

I’m Lemar Arceneaux, an artist both born and based in the greatest city on earth, New Orleans, LA. Capturing rare moments of genuine human expression is what motivates my portraiture. In life we each have a unique upbringing, but regardless of our backgrounds, circumstances or experiences we share similar emotions. It’s these emotions that allow a photograph to say what words cannot. Granting the observer an opportunity to empathetically connect with the subject is my ultimate goal.

In addition to making portraits and documentary coverage, I love using the camera to examine how our indigenous ancestors, both African and Native American, have left a lasting impression on the present day culture of this wonderful city.
